Hall Repair Guide

This guide will walk you through identifying issues with halls and conducting proper repairs as a miner to keep the mines in tip-top shape!

What Kind Of Issues Can Miners Repair?

Here are some examples of issues which miners can self-repair:

Lazy Wall Repairs

Sometimes it happens...

You lose your silk touch pickaxe in lava and don't have another one. And just as you're waiting for the oven to smelt some stone for you, your internet goes out.

I get it, but unfortunately we have to clean up after these people.

  1. Make sure there is no lava or water nearby.
  2. Obtain stone from a nearby tunnel with a silk touch pickaxe or by smelting cobblestone in the ovens.
  3. Patch the wall with stone.

Every block of the halls, including the block under where doors go, should be stone.

The Forbidden Tunnel

Some miners are brighter than others.

Creeper loves you!

Creeper and his friends also love the player who tries to use this tunnel 6 months later to get their stuff after they die.

This is pretty simple! Just slap torches in the darkened tunnel.

Any ores and resources you find while doing this are yours to keep! Chances are if this miner forgot something so simple as lighting up the tunnel, they also forgot an ore or two as well.

Was This The Entrance?

Some people can't aim straight.

Others have a tendency to get a bit out of line.

The main issue is ensuring that the entrance is properly aligned at the hallway, however if the whole tunnel is shifted, it's pretty fast to mine it out 1 block over.

If the entrance includes any doors, break the stone block below them to move them.

Newb Traps

There's nothing worse than dying...

Except for dying and then having to try to use broken tunnels with no pickaxe or blocks.

A little pit 2 blocks deep looks lazy and is a nuisance as you mine. And, if you don't have a pick or block, you have to break stone to get out by hand. Now imagine, the stone you broke exposed lava.

Remember that the mines are intended for use by new miners as well! Tunnels also have a secondary life for obsidian miners or cave explorers.

Having level ground is the only way to see from a distance that there are no large holes or lava one block lower.

It just makes sense to keep the tunnels level and ensure that anyone can jump out of any pits, no matter what they have on them.

This Little Light Of Mine

Sometimes people leave extra torches around as a courtesy to others.

The best place to do that is in the station chests.

What Kind Of Issues Should Miners Report?

In general, the following issues should be reported, rather than any attempt to fix them.

The process for reporting issues is as follows:

  1. Use the F2 key to capture at least one screenshot of the problem.
  2. Use the F3 key to capture the current coordinates.
  3. Upload the screenshots to imgur.com. You can do this easily by dragging them from your screenshots folder onto the website. You can usually find your Screenshots directory by typing "%appdata%/.minecraft/Screenshots" into Windows Explorer.
  4. Start a private message to azoundria with the screenshots and coordinates and a description of what the problem is.
